Radiation

In reality LASER is a focussed optimised beam of light. Light is energy, a system of photons, energy can be absorbed or reflected. With hair removal energy is absorbed by the hair follicle, light energy from the laser hits the follicle; it heats up because the energy is absorbed. As it heats up it singes the hair & slowly burns the hair down to the root effectively killing the surrounding follicle & disabling the hair from ever growing again.

Optimised energy is attracted to the hair colour not the skin which is why hair removal is most effective on people with light skin & dark hair. The more contrast between skin & hair colour the more the laser is able to target the hair rather than the skin.

Darker skin types should always be treated with an nd yag or diode laser not IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) which does not have an optimised wavelength. There is a much higher risk of complications & adverse reactions using an IPL laser. It is the equivalent of shooting 5 beams & hoping some of that energy hits the hair & therefore more risk of burning the skin.

WHAT IS 3 WAVELENGTH DIODE LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

3 wavelength diode laser emits light with energy to permanently damage or destroy hair follicles.

It can be performed on all areas of unwanted hair, most commonly on the face, underarms, legs, back & pubic area.

WHAT IS TRIPLE DIODE LASER?

Triple Wavelength Diode Laser is a cutting edge technology in the field of Laser Hair Reduction.

Our laser has a highly chilled below freezing treatment tip, meaning contact with the skin is extremely comfortable & glides over the skin using ultrasound gel.

The technology comprises gold standard 755nm, 808nm & 1064nm diode lasers.

CAN I DO LASER HAIR REMOVAL EVERY WEEK?

It will have zero benefit to perform treatments sooner than recommended as the hair will not be in the suitable growth phase. We recommend getting laser hair removal treatments every 4-8 weeks because hair grows in cycles.

WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WAIT 6 WEEKS BETWEEN LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Waiting six weeks between laser hair removal sessions gives time to body hairs that were not in the anagen phase to enter it. Only 20% of hair is in the right stage of growth at any point of time.

HOW MANY SESSIONS OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL DO YOU NEED?

Most people will have a dramatic & satisfactory result 4-8 treatments. When the course of treatment is completed you will enjoy the numerous benefits of a life without unwanted hair.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT OR NOT?

Laser treatments damage & destroy hair follicles & for some these follicles are completely destroyed & do not recover. However, for others over time, the treated follicles may recover from the initial damage and grow hair again. It is a tall order to eliminate every hair follicle in a given area. Therefore, you may notice a small amount of hair regrowth.

CAN YOU SHAVE IN BETWEEN LASER SESSIONS?

Yes, you can shave in between each session of laser hair removal. During your course of treatment you can shave any hairs that may regrow. After your first laser hair removal session you will notice that you won't need to shave as much as before. After 2-3 sessions you may only need to shave once in a 4-6 week period.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

No makeup & lotion/moisturiser/deodorant for the first 24 hours. Keep the treated area clean & dry, if redness or irritation persists, skip your makeup & moisturiser, & deodorant (for underarms) until the irritation has subsided. Dead hairs will begin to shed 5-30 days after your treatment.
